Method
Tuna Preparation

Season the Tuna
Sprinkle the tuna steaks with salt and black pepper on both sides.

Coat with Sesame Oil
Brush both sides of the tuna steaks with sesame oil.

Coat with Sesame Seeds
Mix the black and white sesame seeds together and press the tuna steaks into the seeds to coat evenly.

Sear the Tuna
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the tuna steaks for about 1-2 minutes on each side for rare, or cook longer to your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest.
Wasabi Mashed Potatoes Preparation

Cook the Potatoes
Peel and chop the potatoes into chunks. Boil in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

Mash the Potatoes
Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, heavy cream, wasabi paste, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

Sear the Broccoli
Add broccoli florets to the skillet. Season with salt and black pepper. Sear for 5-7 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.

Thicken the Sauce
In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to form a slurry. Add to the saucepan and stir until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
