Seafood Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Shrimp
Boil a pot of salted water and add the shrimp. Cook for about 3-4 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque. Drain and place them in an ice bath to cool. Once cooled, drain again and set aside.
- 2
Prepare the Oysters
Make sure the oysters are shucked and cleaned. Arrange them on a platter with their juices intact.
- 3
Prepare the Crab Legs
If not already cooked, steam the crab legs for about 5-7 minutes. Once cooked, let them cool and chill in the refrigerator.
- 4
Prepare the Lobster Tail
If using whole lobster tails, split them down the middle and remove the meat. Chill the tails in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
- 5
Prepare the Mussels
Ensure the mussels are cooked and chilled. Arrange them neatly on the platter.
Cocktail Sauce Preparation
- 6
Mix the Cocktail Sauce
In a bowl, combine ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are well incorporated. Adjust seasonings according to taste.
Assembly
- 7
Arrange the Platter
On a large serving platter, arrange the shrimp, oysters, crab legs, lobster tail, and mussels in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
- 8
Garnish
Add lemon wedges and sprinkle fresh parsley over the seafood for a pop of color.
- 9
Serve
Serve the chilled seafood platter with the prepared cocktail sauce on the side.
