Available Cheeses (choose for +2 each)

Optional Add-ons (pairings served with cheese)

Method

Prepare Base

  1. 1

Preheat oven or broiler to 425°F (220°C) for pizza/flatbread, or heat a skillet over medium for a sandwich/bun option.

  2. 2

Brush the bread, flatbread, bun, or rolled-out dough lightly with 1 tsp olive oil or spread butter evenly. Sprinkle with 1/8 tsp salt and a pinch (1/16 tsp) of black pepper.

Add Cheese

  1. 3

    Single Cheese

Choose one cheese from the 'Available Cheeses' list. Evenly distribute approximately 1/2 cup shredded (or 2 slices / 1–2 oz crumbled) on the prepared base. This represents the +2 each cheese portion size.

  2. 4

    Multiple Cheeses

If using two cheeses, split the recommended quantities (for example 1/4 cup Cheddar + 1/4 cup Mozzarella) or layer slices with shreds. For stronger cheeses (goat, blue), use the smaller measured amounts (1–2 oz) to balance flavor.

Optional Toppings

  1. 5

If making a pizza/flatbread, spread 2 tbsp tomato sauce under the cheese. Add caramelized onions, roasted peppers, or basil as desired before baking.

  2. 6

For sandwiches/burgers, add cheese on top of the hot filling and cover for 1–2 minutes to melt. Finish with arugula or extra basil after melting.

Melt and Finish

  1. 7

Bake pizza/flatbread: place on a baking sheet or pizza stone and bake at 425°F (220°C) for 8–12 minutes, until cheese is melted and slightly golden. For a broiler finish, broil 1–2 minutes watching closely to avoid burning.

  2. 8

Skillet/or sandwich: if using a skillet, cover for 1–3 minutes on low heat to help the cheese melt evenly. For open-faced sandwiches, place under broiler 1–2 minutes.

  3. 9

Remove from heat. Sprinkle 2 tsp grated Parmesan if desired and garnish with fresh basil leaves or 1/4 cup arugula. Let rest 1 minute, then slice or serve.
