For the Stuffed French Toast

Method

Preparation and Cooking

1

Prepare the Citrus Cream Cheese

In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, orange zest, and lemon zest until smooth and creamy. Set aside.

2

Prepare the French Toast Mixture

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.

3

Assemble the Stuffed French Toast

Take one slice of bread, spread a generous amount of the citrus cream cheese mixture on it, then top it with another slice of bread to create a sandwich. Repeat with the remaining slices.

4

Cook the Stuffed French Toast

Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side. Cook in the skillet for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Add more butter as needed.

5

Cook the Bacon or Sausage

While the French toast is cooking, prepare the bacon or sausage in a separate pan until crispy and cooked through.

6

Serve

Serve the stuffed French toast with whipped cream on top and a generous drizzle of strawberry reduction. Add the cooked bacon or sausage on the side.
