Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Lobster

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the whole Maine lobster to the pot, ensuring the water covers the lobster completely.

  2. 2

    Cook the Lobster

Boil the lobster for about 8-10 minutes per pound. For a typical 1-pound lobster, this should take about 8-10 minutes. Once cooked, remove the lobster and place it in a bowl or on a plate.

Vegetables

  1. 3

    Cook the Corn

In the same boiling water, add the corn on the cob and cook for 5-7 minutes until tender. Remove and set aside.

  2. 4

    Prepare the Potato

While the corn is cooking, peel and cube the potato. Add the potato to the boiling water and cook for about 10-12 minutes until fork-tender. Drain and set aside.

Serving

  1. 5

    Melt the Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Season with salt and black pepper.

  2. 6

    Plate the Dish

Serve the lobster with the cooked corn and potato on a plate. Drizzle with melted butter and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
