Method
Preparing the Chicken
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, combine buttermilk, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Add chicken breasts and let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- 2
Dredge the Chicken
In a separate dish, place the all-purpose flour. Remove chicken from marinade, allowing excess to drip off, and dredge in flour until fully coated.
- 3
Fry the Chicken
Heat oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. Fry chicken for 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and let drain on paper towels.
Making the Waffles
- 4
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- 5
- 6
Combine Mixtures
Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 7
Cook the Waffles
Preheat a waffle maker and lightly grease it. Pour the batter into the waffle maker and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions until golden brown.
Preparing the Maple Syrup
- 8
Warm the Maple Syrup
In a small saucepan, gently warm the maple syrup over low heat until heated through. Do not boil.
Making the Seasonal Fruit Sauce
- 9
Prepare the Sauce
In a blender, combine mixed seasonal fruits, honey, and lemon juice. Blend until smooth and set aside.
Assembling the Sliders
- 10
Build the Sliders
Take one waffle, place a piece of fried chicken on top, and then add another waffle to create a sandwich. Repeat for the second slider.
- 11
Serve
Plate the chicken and waffle sliders with warm maple syrup and seasonal fruit sauce drizzled on top. Serve with a side of assorted fresh fruits.
