Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cheese

Shred the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses using a grater or food processor and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Jalapeños

If using fresh jalapeños, slice them into thin rings. If using pickled jalapeños, drain them and set aside.

Assembly

  1. 3

    Layer the Nachos

On a large oven-safe platter or baking sheet, spread out the tortilla chips evenly. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses generously over the chips, followed by the sliced jalapeños.

Baking

  1. 4

    Melt the Cheese

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Place the nachos in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbling.

Serving

  1. 5

    Serve the Nachos

Remove the nachos from the oven and allow them to cool slightly. Serve them hot with a side of salsa for dipping.
