Sauté Vegetables
In a large pot, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and red bell pepper. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

Combine Ingredients
Add the rinsed black beans, corn, diced tomatoes (with juices), vegetable broth, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper to the pot. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.

Simmer the Soup
Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
