Burger Patties

Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare the Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined, careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Shape the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a round patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.

Cook the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes on one side until a nice crust forms. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes for medium doneness.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to allow the cheese to melt.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Bun

Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, slices of tomato, and onion. Add ketchup and mustard to taste.

  3. 8

    Complete the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun. Serve immediately while hot.
