Method

Chili Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Beef

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add Vegetables

Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onions are translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Spices and Beans

Stir in the chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Then add the kidney beans and tomato sauce. Mix well.

  4. 4

    Simmer the Chili

Reduce the heat to low and let the chili simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Cheeseburger Preparation

  1. 5

    Make the Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef for the patties with salt and black pepper. Form into 4 equal-sized patties.

  2. 6

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.

  3. 7

    Add Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place shredded cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to melt.

  4. 8

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the burger buns if desired. Place the cooked patty with melted cheddar on the bottom half of the bun. Top with house chili, a generous drizzle of queso, shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, and pickles.

  5. 9

    Serve

Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately with additional chili on the side if desired.
