Method
Preparation
- 1
Cook the Bacon
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the slices of smoked bacon until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Turn occasionally to ensure even cooking. Once done, remove the bacon from the skillet and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
- 2
Prepare the Cheese
While the bacon is cooking, shred the cheddar cheese if not pre-shredded. Set aside for later use.
Assembly
- 3
Combine Ingredients
In the same skillet with the bacon drippings (add a little oil if needed), lower the heat to medium-low. Add the shredded cheddar cheese and allow it to melt gently, stirring occasionally. This should take about 3-5 minutes.
- 4
Add Bacon
Once the cheese is melted, crumbled the cooked bacon into the cheese mixture. Stir to combine and let it cook for an additional minute until the bacon is heated through.
Serving
- 5
Serve the Dish
Remove from heat and season with black pepper to taste. If desired, sprinkle chopped green onions on top for added flavor and color. Serve immediately as a dip or topping.
