Cooking Instructions
- 1
Cook the Pasta
In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 2
Prepare the Mushroom Truffle Sauce
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the wild mushrooms and cook until they are soft, about 5-7 minutes.
- 3
Make the Cheese Sauce
Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir to combine. Gradually whisk in the heavy cream, and continue cooking until the mixture thickens, about 3-5 minutes. Stir in the Gruyère and cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Add truffle oil, salt, and black pepper to taste.
- 4
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until the pasta is well coated.
- 5
Prepare Topping
In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with the grated Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the mac and cheese.
- 6
Bake
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mac and cheese to a baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes until the top is golden and crispy.
- 7
Serve
Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your Truffle Mac & Cheese!
