Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Cure the Salmon

In a bowl, mix the kosher salt, sugar, crushed black peppercorns, and dill. Rub this mixture thoroughly over the salmon fillet, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 24-48 hours.

  2. 2

    Smoke the Salmon (Optional)

If using a smoker, smoke the cured salmon at a low temperature for about 1 hour. If not, you can use the cured salmon directly.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Vegetables

Thinly slice the cucumber and radishes. Pickle the red onion by soaking it in vinegar for at least 30 minutes.

  4. 4

    Boil the Eggs

Place the eggs in a pot, cover with water, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10-12 minutes. Cool in an ice bath, then peel and slice.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Bagel Board

On a large platter or board, arrange the bagels, cream cheese, sliced salmon, cucumber, radishes, pickled onions, capers, sliced eggs, and tomato. Serve immediately.
