Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each to prevent puffing while cooking.

Cook the Patties

  1. 3

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side.

  3. 5

Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties reach your desired doneness.

Prepare the Toppings

  1. 6

While the patties are cooking, wash and dry the lettuce. Slice the tomato and onion into rings.

  2. 7

Prepare pickles and have ketchup and mustard ready for assembly.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 8

Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.

  2. 9

On the bottom bun, layer the lettuce, followed by the cooked beef patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, onion rings, and pickles.

  3. 10

Drizzle ketchup and mustard on top, then place the top bun over the assembled ingredients.
