Method
Prepare the Baked Potatoes
- 1
Baking the Potatoes
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Wash the potatoes thoroughly under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Poke several holes in each potato with a fork to allow steam to escape. Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack and bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the skins are crisp and a fork easily pierces the flesh.
Prepare the Toppings

Prepare Toppings
While the potatoes are baking, prepare your toppings. Grate the cheese, chop the green onions, and gather the butter, bacon bits, salt, and pepper. Set them aside for later use.
Assemble the Dish

Assembling the Baked Potato
Once the potatoes are baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Cut a slit down the center of each potato and gently squeeze the ends to fluff the insides. Add a tablespoon of butter into each potato, followed by a pinch of salt and pepper. Top with shredded cheese, bacon bits, a dollop of sour cream, and sprinkle with chopped green onions.
