Prepare the Pasta

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring a generous amount of salted water to a boil.

Cook Spaghetti
Add the spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

Drain and Set Aside
Once cooked, drain the spaghetti in a colander and set aside.
Prepare the Meat Sauce

Sauté Onion and Garlic
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.

Brown the Ground Beef
Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.

Add Tomatoes and Seasonings
Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.

Simmer the Sauce
Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Combine and Serve

Mix Spaghetti with Sauce
Add the cooked spaghetti to the meat sauce and toss until the pasta is well coated.

Plate the spaghetti topped with meat sauce. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and garnish with fresh basil before serving.
