- 1
Prepare the glass (optional)
If you prefer a salted or sugared rim, run a lime wedge around the outside edge of a chilled rocks or highball glass. Dip the rim lightly into coarse salt or superfine sugar placed on a small plate until evenly coated. Set the glass aside.
- 2
Combine base ingredients
Add the vodka, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and orange liqueur to a cocktail shaker filled about halfway with ice.
- 3
Shake
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the shaker is cold to the touch and the ingredients are well chilled and slightly diluted.

- 5
Top and finish
Top the drink with approximately 2 oz of club soda to add effervescence. Give the drink a gentle stir (1–2 rotations) to combine without flattening the fizz.
- 6
Garnish and serve
Garnish with a lime wheel (and a lime twist if desired). Serve immediately with a short stirring spoon or straw.
