Equipment (optional)

Preparation

Cocktail

1. Prepare glass

Fill a highball or Collins glass about three-quarters full with large ice cubes or crushed ice and set aside.

2. Shake

In a shaker, add 2 oz vodka, 4 oz fresh orange juice, 1 oz pineapple juice, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice and 0.25 oz simple syrup (if using). Add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously for 8–10 seconds to chill and slightly dilute.

3. Strain and build

Strain the mixed cocktail into the prepared glass over the ice. If you prefer a more casual build, skip shaking and simply stir the ingredients in the glass with a bar spoon.

4. Finish with bitters

Dash 2 dashes of Angostura bitters over the top to add aromatic depth and a light spiced contrast to the citrus and tropical fruit.

Garnish & Serve

5. Garnish the rim with an orange wheel and place a pineapple wedge on the side of the glass. Drop a maraschino cherry into the drink or skewer it with the fruit on a pick.

6. Serve immediately with a straw or stirring stick. Suggest serving chilled as a brunch cocktail; adjust sweetness with simple syrup to taste and lime for extra brightness.

Cleanup (optional)

7. Rinse the shaker and strainers promptly to avoid sticky residue from orange and pineapple juices. Dry and store bar tools.
