For the Torte

Method

Prepare the Torte

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan with butter or cooking spray.

  2. 2

    Melt the Chocolate

In a double boiler or microwave, melt the dark chocolate until smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, whisk together gluten-free flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  4. 4

    Beat Eggs and Sugar

In a separate large bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar until fluffy and pale in color, about 3-5 minutes.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the melted chocolate and vanilla extract to the egg mixture, stirring gently to combine.

  6. 6

    Combine All Ingredients

Fold the dry ingredients into the chocolate-egg mixture until just combined. Then fold in the melted butter.

  7. 7

    Bake the Torte

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.

  8. 8

    Cool and Serve

Allow the torte to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. Serve warm.

Serve the Dessert

  1. 9

    Plate the Torte

Slice the warm torte into wedges and place on serving plates.

  2. 10

    Add Ice Cream and Crumbles

Top each slice with a scoop of ice cream and sprinkle with crumbled Heath bar.
