Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the Angus Top Sirloin Steaks out of the refrigerator and allow them to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps ensure even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub each steak with olive oil on both sides. Then, generously season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Make sure to coat the edges as well.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or a heavy skillet (preferably cast iron) over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes until hot.

  2. 4

    Cook the Steak

Place the seasoned steaks on the hot grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the steaks and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium rare or until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C). For medium, cook for about 6-7 minutes per side until the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C).

  3. 5

    Add Fresh Rosemary

During the last minute of cooking, add fresh rosemary sprigs on top of the steaks to infuse flavor.

Resting

  1. 6

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the grill or skillet and place them on a cutting board. Tent with aluminum foil and let them rest for 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute within the meat.

Serving

  1. 7

    Slice and Serve

After resting, slice the steaks against the grain and serve immediately. You may also serve with a side of your choice, such as roasted vegetables or mashed potatoes.
