Pasta

Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Cheese Sauce Preparation

  1. 2

    Make the Roux

In a large saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the all-purpose flour and whisk continuously for about 1-2 minutes until the mixture is bubbly and golden.

  2. 3

    Add Milk

Gradually pour in the milk while whisking continuously to prevent lumps. Continue to cook for about 3-5 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.

  3. 4

    Add Cheeses

Lower the heat and add the shredded American cheese and cheddar cheese to the thickened milk mixture. Stir until the cheese is completely melted and the sauce is smooth.

  4. 5

    Season the Sauce

Stir in salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well to combine all the flavors.

Combine and Serve

  1. 6

    Mix Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked elbow macaroni to the cheese sauce. Stir until the pasta is fully coated in the creamy cheese sauce.

  2. 7

    Serve

Serve hot, garnished with additional cheese or herbs if desired. Enjoy your Mission Macaroni!
