House-Made Crackers
Method
Pimento Cheese Preparation
- 1
Combine Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the sharp cheddar cheese, cream cheese, and mayonnaise. Mix until well blended.
- 2
Add Pimentos and Spices
Stir in the pimentos, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- 3
Chill
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Cracker Preparation
- 4
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- 5
Make Dough
In a large bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, salt, and any dried herbs if using. Cut in the unsalted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add water until a dough forms.
- 6
Roll Out Dough
On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/8-inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes using a knife or cookie cutter.
- 7
Bake Crackers
Place the crackers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden. Allow to cool before serving.
