Method

Preparation of Eggs

  1. 1

    Boil the Eggs

In a large pot, place the 6 large eggs and cover them with water. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, cover the pot and remove it from heat. Let it sit for 12-15 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cool and Peel

After the eggs have cooked, transfer them to a bowl of ice water for about 5 minutes to cool. Once cooled, gently tap each egg on a hard surface and peel off the shell. Rinse the eggs under cold water to remove any shell fragments.

Making the Filling

  1. 3

    Prepare the Filling

Slice the peeled eggs in half lengthwise and gently remove the yolks into a mixing bowl. Mash the yolks with a fork until smooth.

  2. 4

    Mix Ingredients

To the mashed yolks, add 1 cup of mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard, 2 tablespoons of sweet pickle relish, 1 teaspoon of hot sauce, and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Mix until well combined and creamy.

Assembling the Deviled Eggs

  1. 5

    Fill the Egg Whites

Using a spoon or pastry bag, fill the halved egg whites with the yolk mixture.

  2. 6

    Garnish

Sprinkle the tops with smoked paprika and finely chopped fresh chives for garnish.
