Combine Dry Ingredients
In a medium saucepan, whisk together the granulated sugar, cornstarch, and salt until well combined.

Add Milk
Gradually whisk in the milk until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps.

Cook the Mixture
Place the saucepan over medium heat. Continuously stir the mixture until it begins to thicken and bubble, about 5-7 minutes.

Cool the Pudding
Transfer the pudding to a bowl, cover it with plastic wrap (pressing it directly onto the surface of the pudding to prevent a skin from forming), and let it cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

Prepare the Bananas
Slice the ripe bananas into thin rounds.

Top with Whipped Cream
Spread the whipped cream over the final layer of pudding for a beautiful finish.

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best flavor. Serve chilled.
