Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and chopped rosemary. Rub this mixture all over the ribeye steaks. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Once hot, place the marinated steaks on the grill. Cook for 5-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from the grill and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Preparing the Fries

  1. 3

    Cut the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips (about 1/4 inch thick) to create fries.

  2. 4

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch and makes the fries crispier.

  3. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large heavy pot to 350°F (175°C). Drain and pat dry the soaked potatoes. Fry them in batches for 4-5 minutes until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels, then season with salt and paprika.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the Dish

Slice the rested steaks against the grain and serve alongside a generous portion of fries. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
