Main Ingredients

Method

Preparing the Patties

1

Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, finely chopped onion, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

2

Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into oval patties, about 1/2 inch thick.

Cooking the Patties

3

Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

4

Cook the Patties

Add the patties to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Making the Gravy

5

Sauté the Mushrooms

In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they are browned.

6

Prepare the Gravy

Add the beef broth, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet. Bring to a simmer.

7

Thicken the Gravy

In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with the water until smooth. Gradually stir this mixture into the simmering gravy until it thickens.

Serving

8

Combine and Serve

Return the patties to the skillet, spoon the gravy over them, and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Serve hot with your choice of two dinner sides.
