House-made Pickles

Method

House-made Pickles

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pickles

In a medium bowl, combine the water, white vinegar, sugar, and salt. Stir until the sugar and salt are dissolved.

  2. 2

Slice the cucumber into thin rounds and add them to the bowl along with the garlic cloves and dill.

  3. 3

Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before using. For best flavor, let sit overnight.

Burger Patty

  1. 4

    Prepare the Patty Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

  2. 5

Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  3. 6

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape into patties about ¾ inch thick.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 7

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side.

  2. 8

Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until they reach your desired doneness.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 9

    Prepare the Buns and Toppings

While the patties are cooking, slice the tomato and onion. Toast the brioche buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 10

On the bottom half of each bun, place a few leaves of lettuce.

  3. 11

Once the patties are cooked, place one patty on each bun.

  4. 12

Top each patty with slices of tomato, onion, and a generous amount of house-made pickles.

  5. 13

Place the top half of the brioche bun on each burger and serve immediately.
