Method
Grilled Cheese Sandwich
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Gather all the ingredients needed for the grilled cheese sandwich. Make sure the butter is softened for easy spreading.
- 2
Assemble the Sandwich
Take two slices of bread and place one slice on a clean surface. Add a slice of cheddar cheese on top, then place the second slice of bread on top of the cheese.
- 3
Butter the Bread
Spread 1 tablespoon of softened butter on the outside of the sandwich (the side that will be in contact with the skillet).
- 4
- 5
Cook the Sandwich
Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the bread is golden brown. Carefully flip the sandwich and butter the other side. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the other side is golden brown.
- 6
Serve
Remove the grilled cheese sandwich from the skillet, cut it in half if desired, and set aside to cool slightly before serving.
Fries
- 7
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin strips to make fries.
- 8
Season the Potatoes
In a large bowl, toss the potato strips with olive oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
- 9
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- 10
Bake the Fries
Spread the seasoned potato strips in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
- 11
Serve
Remove the fries from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving alongside the grilled cheese sandwich.
