Cheese Dip
For Frying
Method
Preparing the Cheese Dip
Cook the Ground Beef
In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
Make the Cheese Mixture
In a saucepan over low heat, combine cheddar cheese, cream cheese, and milk. Stir continuously until the cheeses are melted and the mixture is smooth.
Add Flavorings
Stir in the cooked ground beef, jalapenos, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and keep warm on low heat.
Preparing the Bites
Form Cheese Bites
Once the cheese dip is cool enough to handle, scoop out small portions, about 1 tablespoon each, and form them into balls or bite-sized pieces.
Bread the Cheese Bites
Roll each cheese ball first in flour, then dip it in the beaten eggs, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs. Place the breaded bites on a plate.
Frying the Bites
Heat Oil
In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Cheese Bites
Carefully place the breaded cheese bites in the hot oil, a few at a time, and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.
