Sazerac Preparation

Chill the Glass
Chill an old-fashioned glass by filling it with ice water and set it aside.

Add the Whiskey
Pour in the rye whiskey and fill the mixing glass with ice. Stir well until the mixture is chilled.

Prepare the Glass
Empty the ice water from the chilled old-fashioned glass and add the absinthe, swirling it to coat the inside of the glass. Discard any excess absinthe.
