Prepare the Breading
In a shallow bowl, mix together the flour, cornmeal, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.

Fry the Fish
Carefully place the coated fish fillets in the hot oil. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.

Toast the Buns
While the fish is frying, toast the sandwich buns in a separate skillet or oven until golden brown.

Assemble the Sandwiches
On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a fried fish fillet, a slice of tomato, and a tablespoon of tartar sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.
