Fried Chicken Ingredients
Method
Fried Chicken Directions
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Add the chicken pieces, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
- 2
Prepare the Dredging Station
In a shallow dish, add the all-purpose flour. Set aside.
- 3
Dredge the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess liquid to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour, coating thoroughly. Shake off any excess flour.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Chicken
Carefully add the dredged chicken pieces to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 10-15 minutes per side, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (75°C).
- 6
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried chicken from the oil and let it drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Serve hot.
