Mix the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, double smoked bacon (finely chopped), breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Form the Meatballs
Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter.

Cook the Meatballs
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and set aside.

Simmer the Sauce
Add crushed tomatoes, basil, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and let cook for 15-20 minutes.

Combine Meatballs and Sauce
Add the meatballs to the sauce, cover, and let simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
Serving

Plate the Dish
Serve the meatballs and sauce over grilled sourdough bread. Top with grated Parmigiano Reggiano.
