(by Chris Elford) A boozy modern American classic cocktail melding orange gentian forward amaro with gin and rye.

In a cocktail shaker, combine the gin, rye whiskey, amaro, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, and Angostura bitters. Fill the shaker with ice.

Mix the Ingredients

Shake the mixture vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.

Strain the cocktail into a chilled coupe glass.

Express the oils from a lemon twist over the cocktail and drop it into the glass as a garnish.
