Dough and Filling
Method
Preparation
- 1
Make the Dough
In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the milk until warm (not hot). Stir in the yeast and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs. Mix until a dough forms.
- 2
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 3
Prepare the Filling
In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together. Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Spread softened butter over the dough and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly on top.
- 4
Roll and Cut
Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Slice into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish. Pour caramel sauce evenly over the rolls.
- 5
Second Rise
Cover the baking dish with a cloth and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
- 6
Bake
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Let them cool slightly before serving.
