Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Caramelized Onion
Slice the onion thinly. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the onions, sprinkle with a pinch of salt and sugar, and cook slowly until golden and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
- 2
Make the Secret Sauce
In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
- 3
Cook the Smash Patties
Divide the ground beef into two equal balls. Heat a griddle or non-stick skillet over high heat. Add the beef balls and smash them down with a spatula to form patties. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip and place a slice of cheese on each patty. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts.
- 4
Fry the Eggs
In a separate skillet, melt the remaining tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook until the whites are set but the yolks are still runny, about 2-3 minutes.
