Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Ribs
Start by trimming any excess fat from the pork ribs. This will help reduce greasy residue and improve the flavor.
- 2
Mix the Dry Rub
In a bowl, combine paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, black pepper, salt, chili powder, and cumin. Mix well to create an even dry rub.
- 3
Rub the Spices
Evenly coat the pork ribs with the dry rub mixture. Make sure to apply it on both sides and into any crevices for maximum flavor. Let the ribs sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to absorb the spices.
Cooking
- 4
Prepare the Slow Cooker
Place the ribs into the slow cooker. If necessary, cut them into sections to fit.
- 5
Add Water
Pour 2 cups of water into the slow cooker around the ribs. This will create steam and help keep the ribs moist during cooking.
- 6
Cook the Ribs
Cover the slow cooker and set it on low heat. Cook for 6 to 8 hours, or until the ribs are tender and easily pull away from the bone.
Finishing Touches
- 7
Glaze with BBQ Sauce
Once the ribs are cooked, carefully remove them from the slow cooker and place them on a baking sheet. Brush the ribs generously with BBQ sauce.
- 8
Broil for Crispy Finish
Preheat your oven broiler. Place the baking sheet under the broiler for about 5-7 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning, until the BBQ sauce is caramelized and sticky.
- 9
Serve
Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
