Method

Cooking Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add a pinch of salt.

  2. 2

    Cook Pasta

Add the pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Preparing the Sauce

  1. 3

    Heat Olive Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

  2. 4

    Sauté Garlic

Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

  3. 5

    Add Tomatoes

Stir in the halved cherry tomatoes and cook for about 3-4 minutes until they start to soften.

  4. 6

    Season the Sauce

Add salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) to the tomato mixture. Stir well to combine.

  5. 7

    Add Pasta and Basil

Add the cooked pasta and chopped basil to the skillet. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated with the sauce.

  6. 8

    Finish with Parmesan

Remove from heat and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the pasta. Toss gently to combine.

  7. 9

    Add Lemon Juice

Drizzle with lemon juice for added freshness (if using) and give it a final toss.

Serving

  1. 10

    Plate and Serve

Divide the pasta among serving plates, garnish with additional basil and Parmesan if desired, and serve immediately.
