Method
Pulled Pork Preparation
- 1
Season the Pork
Rub the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper, ensuring it is evenly coated.
- 2
Slow Cook the Pork
Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Add apple cider vinegar and water. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shredded.
- 3
Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and let it cool slightly. Use two forks to shred the pork into bite-sized pieces. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix with BBQ sauce. Let it warm for an additional 30 minutes.
Coleslaw Preparation
- 4
Mix Coleslaw Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded cabbage and grated carrot. In a separate bowl, mix mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
- 5
Combine and Chill
Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrot mixture. Toss to combine. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Sandwich Assembly
- 6
Assemble the Sandwich
Toast the hamburger buns if desired. Place a generous portion of pulled pork on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a scoop of coleslaw and drizzle with additional BBQ sauce. Place the top half of the bun to complete the sandwich.
- 7
Serve
Serve immediately while warm, alongside your favorite sides.
