Method
Brisket Preparation
- 1
Season the Brisket
In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Rub this spice mixture all over the beef brisket, ensuring it is well coated.
- 2
Sear the Brisket
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add a little oil. Once hot, sear the brisket on both sides until browned, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- 3
Cook the Brisket
Transfer the seared brisket to a slow cooker. Pour the beef broth over the brisket, cover, and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours until the brisket is tender.
- 4
Shred the Brisket
Once cooked, remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for about 15 minutes. Then, using two forks, shred the meat.
Sandwich Assembly
- 5
Prepare the Buns
While the brisket is resting, slice the brioche buns in half and toast them lightly on a skillet or in a toaster.
- 6
Assemble the Sandwich
On the bottom half of each bun, add a generous portion of shredded brisket. Top with BBQ sauce, pickles, and a scoop of coleslaw. Place the top half of the bun on the sandwich.
- 7
Serve
Serve the brisket sandwiches warm, optionally with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
