Prepare the Tartar Sauce

Mix Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, finely chopped dill pickles, chopped capers, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well mixed. Cover and refrigerate while you prepare the walleye.
Prepare the Walleye Fillet

Prepare Breading Stations
Set up three shallow dishes: one with all-purpose flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with cornmeal mixed with salt and black pepper.

Fry the Walleye
In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded walleye fillets. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Assemble the Sandwich

Build the Sandwich
Take a hoagie bun and place 2 leaves of lettuce inside. Add a fried walleye fillet on top of the lettuce. Spread a generous amount of tartar sauce on the walleye, then close the sandwich with the other half of the bun.
