Taco Meat or Chicken

Cheddar-Mozzarella Mixture

Vegetables and Toppings

For Serving

Method

Prepare Taco Meat or Chicken

  1. 1

    Cook the Meat

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef or chicken. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add Seasoning

Stir in the taco seasoning and water. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Prepare Cheese Mixture

  1. 3

    Mix Cheeses

In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese. Set aside.

Prepare Vegetables and Toppings

  1. 4

    Chop Vegetables

Dice the onion and tomatoes. Slice the black olives. Set all prepared vegetables aside.

  2. 5

    Prepare Tortilla Bowls

If using store-bought tortilla bowls, ensure they are ready for serving. If making homemade, bake tortillas in a bowl shape until crispy.

Assemble Taco Salad

  1. 6

    Layer Ingredients

In each tortilla bowl, add a portion of the taco meat or chicken at the bottom. Top with the cheese mixture, followed by diced onions, black olives, and diced tomatoes.

Serve

  1. 7

    Add Toppings

Serve each assembled taco salad with a dollop of sour cream and a side of salsa.
