Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Preheat your grill or char-broiler to medium-high heat. Season the chicken breasts with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  2. 2

    Cook the Chicken

Place the seasoned chicken breasts on the grill and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

  3. 3

    Sauté the Mushrooms

While the chicken is cooking, heat a skillet over medium heat and add a tablespoon of olive oil. Add the mushrooms and sauté for about 5 minutes until they are tender. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Chicken Cordon Bleu

Once the chicken is cooked, place two slices of ham on each chicken breast, followed by a slice of Swiss cheese. Top with sautéed mushrooms.

  5. 5

    Melt the Cheese

Cover the skillet with a lid or place under a broiler for a couple of minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the Dish

Transfer the Chicken Cordon Bleu to a serving plate. Drizzle blue cheese dressing over the top or serve on the side.
