Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip the patties.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

After flipping the patties, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the burger is cooked to your desired doneness.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare Buns

While the burgers are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly if desired.

  2. 7

    Add Toppings

On the bottom half of each bun, layer lettuce, sliced tomato, and sliced onion. Place the cooked burger patty with melted cheese on top.

  3. 8

    Final Touches

Add pickles and your choice of condiments (ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise) on top of the patty. Place the top half of the bun to finish.
