Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Meatballs
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- 2
Cook the Meatballs
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
- 3
Make the Sauce
In the same skillet, add the crushed tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, and sugar. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 5 minutes.
- 4
Combine Meatballs and Sauce
Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover, and simmer in the sauce for an additional 15 minutes, until the meatballs are cooked through.
- 5
Cook the Spaghetti
While the meatballs are simmering, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- 6
Serve
Serve the spaghetti topped with meatballs and sauce. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
