Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Mash the Bananas

In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.

  3. 3

    Mix Wet Ingredients

Add the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas, and mix well.

  4. 4

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet banana mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.

  6. 6

    Add Optional Ingredients

Fold in any optional mix-ins such as walnuts, chocolate chips, or cinnamon, if desired.

  7. 7

    Pour into Loaf Pan

Pour the batter into a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan.

  8. 8

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  9. 9

    Cool and Serve

Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve.
