Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it's hot and ready for baking.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Baking Pan

Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

Mixing the Batter

  1. 3

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well mixed.

  2. 4

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until combined.

  3. 5

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

  4. 6

    Add Chocolate Chips

Fold in the chocolate chips if using, making sure they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Baking

  1. 7

    Pour Batter into Pan

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.

  2. 8

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  3. 9

    Cool

Once done, remove the pan from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serving

  1. 10

    Serve

Cut into squares and serve. Optionally dust with powdered sugar before serving for an extra touch of sweetness.
