Method
Steak Preparation
- 1
Season the Steak
Take the ribeye steak out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Pat it dry with paper towels, then generously season both sides with salt and black pepper.
- 2
Preheat the Pan
In a large skillet or cast-iron pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it begins to shimmer but not smoke.
- 3
- 4
Rest the Steak
Once cooked, remove the steak from the skillet and transfer it to a cutting board. Cover loosely with aluminum foil and let it rest for at least 5 minutes.
Seaweed Butter Preparation
- 5
Prepare the Butter
In a small bowl, soften the unsalted butter at room temperature. Add the dried seaweed, minced garlic, and lemon juice. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
- 6
Chill the Butter
Transfer the seaweed butter mixture onto a piece of parchment paper or plastic wrap. Roll it into a log shape and twist the ends to seal. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes until it firms up.
