Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Scallops

Rinse the Hokkaido scallops under cold water to remove any sand or debris. Pat them dry with a paper towel.

  2. 2

    Season the Scallops

Sprinkle both sides of the scallops with sea salt and black pepper to taste. Set aside for a few minutes to allow the seasoning to soak in.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Garlic

    Mince the garlic clove finely.

  4. 4

    Chop the Parsley

Finely chop the fresh parsley and set aside for garnish.

Cooking

  1. 5

    Heat the Pan

In a skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat until it bubbles.

  2. 6

    Sear the Scallops

Once the butter is hot, add the seasoned scallops to the pan. Sear for about 1-2 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and opaque in the center.

  3. 7

    Add Garlic and Lemon Juice

In the last minute of cooking, add the minced garlic to the pan, stirring gently to combine without burning it. Squeeze lemon juice over the scallops.

  4. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the scallops from the pan, place them on a serving plate, and sprinkle with chopped parsley for garnish.
