Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cauliflower

Cut the cauliflower into bite-sized florets and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Tempura Batter

In a bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the cold water until you reach a smooth, slightly thick consistency.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep pan or pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Batter the Cauliflower

Dip each cauliflower floret into the tempura batter, ensuring it is well-coated.

  5. 5

    Fry the Cauliflower

Carefully drop the battered cauliflower florets into the hot oil in small batches. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Add Sauce and Garnish

In a large bowl, toss the fried cauliflower with the sweet & sour chili sauce. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
